Documents: Make sure your passport is up to date, sort out visas, insurance, and flight details, and notify your bank if you’ll be using your card abroad. I also recommend a travel card.
Packing: Consider your clothing, amenities, and how much space you’ll need. Make a checklist to avoid forgetting essentials.
Everyone’s situation is different. I've had friends take a gap year before, during, or after university. I didn’t take mine until I was 23, after working full-time post-university I realised I hadn’t had the chance to explore travel properly. I even know people who took a gap year in their 30s! But if a gap year isn’t for you, there are still plenty of ways to travel without taking one.

It depends on how confident you are with planning. Travel agents can be helpful, especially for first-time travelers, but planning yourself can save money.
